Oakland Irrigation (a Division of Oakland Nursery) is seeking an Irrigation Foreman to manage an installation crew. We provide residential and commercial services: install irrigation systems, low voltage landscape lighting, corrective drainage systems, small ponds, holiday lighting, seeding and/or sod. Irrigation Foremen work directly with Director of Irrigation and/or the Irrigation Salesman on jobs to design the systems that keep landscapes looking beautiful. Oakland Irrigation has been servicing the greater Columbus area for over 45 years.

Full time

Pay negotiable based on experience

Schedule:

Monday thru Friday (occational weekends during busy seasons)

Ideal Candidates:

• Have 1 – 3 years’ experience with irrigation installation (residential & commercial), installing low voltage landscape lighting, small ponds/water features, and drainage install
• Have capability to read blue print plans and landscape drawings.
• Can respectfully direct a team to execute a project.
• Can address homeowner or property owner questions confidently and intellegently.
• Can safely operate small machinery: Skid Steer, Dingo, Mini Excavator, and a Trencher.
• Have a valid and clean driving record. Certain vehicles require a Health Certificate for the non-CDL vehicle usage, will earn through us if needed.
• Can pass a mandatory drug screen upon hire.
• Must be able to lift 80 lbs, clinb a ladder, lift, bend, and kneel for periods of time.
• Can maintain a professional appearance and attitude when dealing with customers.
• Are on-time, dependable, and can problem-solve in the field.
• Have excellent communication skills (bilingual is a plus).
• Have at least a high school diploma or GED.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage and lead a crew of 2 – 3 irrigation installers.
• Ensure that all materials and machinery are prepped and loaded before heading to the job site and ensure a clean job site upon completion.
• Maintain a clean company vehicle and ensure that all truck tools are functional and accounted for.
• Check all fluid levels in the vehicles and greasing equipment prior to use.
• Document jobs using Hindsite software.
