/Duties
The primary role of the Intramural Sports and Sport Clubs Event Supervisor is to supervise events and practices, and to assist in the overall operation of both programs. Supervisors will primarily be responsible for overseeing sport club members at scheduled practices and events, and for supervising intramural sports officials and participants at nightly competitions.

General Expectations of the Position:
- Interview, hire, train, mentor, evaluate, supervise, and provide feedback to all student employees within your specific area. This includes informing all employees of the employee conduct policy (student write-ups) and enforcing the policy consistently.
- Regularly meet with professional supervisor and/or graduate assistants
- Conduct staff meetings on a regular basis
- Assist in staff training and changes of all departmental policies and procedures
- Assist with in-service trainings
- Attendance at all staff meetings
- Complete student manager evaluations twice per year
- Provide a safe, secure environment for all scheduled events
- Maintain a current CPR/AED and First Aid certification, and be willing to provide first aid and emergency services, as needed
- Document all accidents/incidents that occur according to established procedures
- Ensure all policies and procedures are being followed by all members and guests
- Complete a mandatory OSHA training each year, as required
- Work collaboratively with all student supervisors on civic engagement activities and fundraising programs
- Attend supervisor meetings, workshops, conferences, retreats, and other mandatory meetings
- Maintain at least 2 office hours per week for administrative duties and supervision
- Ensure proper coverage for all areas within their supervision; provide assistance in finding coverage if staff needs assistance (they are to find coverage first and utilize the Supervisor as the last resort)
- Educate staff about substitution and calling in to work procedures
- Lead in the direction and implementation of risk management/safety policies and follow the appropriate procedures for the Emergency Action Plan
- Student employees cannot work over 20 hours/week. It is your responsibility to ensure you do not go over hours
Intramural Program Responsibilities:
- Attend and instruct at official training sessions, as assigned
- Assist with setup and breakdown of all intramural events to which you are assigned
Sport Club Program Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance on the part of each sport club with all program policies and procedures through direct supervision and audits
- Manage and help to facilitate scheduled events and practices, ensuring that a safe atmosphere is maintained
- Assist with providing sport club members access to facilities and equipment at all sport club events

Days/Hours Needed
Candidates should be available during most of the hours during which intramural sports/sport club events occur. Typically, Mondays through Thursdays from 5:30-11pm and Sundays from 1-11pm. Irregular hours for special event coverage and training sessions are also required.

Required Qualifications
Must be a current SUNY Cortland student. To be considered for this position, students must have worked a minimum of 1 semester for either the intramural sports or sport clubs program. Candidates must apply, be interviewed, be willing to attend all designated training sessions, and be willing to become First Aid & CPR/AED certified.
