Job Description
Our Olathe, KS location is seeking an international shipping coordinator to add to our team. This position is responsible for coordinating the daily shipping of all international shipments while ensuring full compliance with applicable laws and regulations governing our products’ exports.
The international shipping coordinator will work cooperatively with the Global Logistics Leader, Distribution Center personnel, and other teams to gather and provide the necessary information to the appropriate parties to execute all exports in a timely manner.
A sense of urgency to prioritize any escalated orders to complete same day shipping and identify and potential red flags in the logistics process.
Interested candidates must have at least 2+ year’s previous experience in preparing and executing small parcel and large export shipments via Air and Ocean.
Some knowledge of the application of the HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule numbers, ECCN (Export Control Classification Numbers) and EEI (Electronic Export Information)Filings.
Responsibilities of the International Shipping Coordinator
  • Adhere to the International Shipping SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) and shipping compliance checklist for licensed exports.
  • Communicate proactively with internal and external customers of any delays and/or changes in the shipment's transportation and logistics.
  • Work closely with the Trade Compliance Department to resolve any issues.
  • File in ACE AESDirect EEI Filings for all our export shipments.
  • Maintain all export documentation in accordance with the Corporate Recordkeeping Retention Policy for Export & Import.
  • Processing freight documents, auditing files for accuracy, and providing outstanding customer service.
  • Responsible for processing all international shipments via numerous carriers including online tools and/or shipping software
  • Ensure physical shipment attributes match all required export documentation.
  • Responsible for maintaining and documenting departmental processes and procedures as necessary.
  • Understanding of INCOTERMS and its application in international shipping.
  • Compiles and maintains various daily, weekly and monthly reports
  • Creates documentation needed for processing and shipping return to vendor (RTV) shipments
  • Ensures that all shipments meet the corporate international shipping guidelines
  • Maintains a working knowledge and understanding of all currently hazardous materials IATA, IMDG, and DOT/49 CFR) shipping regulations and documentation requirements
  • Communicate proactively with customers/ their freight forwarders as required to facilitate transportation booking and shipping, including provide routing request instructions and/or tracking information to customers/ their freight forwarders, carriers, or other transportation intermediaries.
  • Communicates with transportation companies as required to arrange for transportation and to track shipments as required
Desired Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Supply chain or Logistics related certifications, college coursework, AA or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Current IATA, IMDG and DOT (49 CFR) hazardous materials shipping certifications
  • 2+ year international shipping experience, including formal export compliance training and/or certification
  • Must be able to problem solve, multi-task and work independently with accuracy.
  • Excellent computer skills (intermediate level) including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and AS400 ERP system

Pay Range:
$18.94 - $26.73
