Background:

This role is part of the WinField United/Land O’Lakes International business. In this role you will provide thought leadership, technical support, and training to our international businesses which currently include South Africa, Brazil, Mexico and Canada around our key adjuvants, foliar nutrition products and other Intellectual Property (ex. NutriSolutions 360) when transferred outside the US. By leveraging our leadership expertise, high quality products, rich data, and innovative ag technology, you will help position, develop, and support these products with distributors in each country.

As the International Agronomist you will:

• Work through our global network on market development
• Determine appropriate recommendations and technical positioning for agronomic practices and products (adjuvants and plant nutrition/performance) used in each country
• Provide sound agronomic support to in-country staff as well as all distributors and their field agronomists
• Utilize agronomic expertise and anticipation of agronomic trends, as well as new crops to improve market positioning and profitability of proprietary and plant nutrition/performance products
• Serve as a technical resource for WinField United product development teams
• Provide detailed training (classroom & field) and on-site sales support for distributors on product positioning, technical & agronomy bulletins, agronomy alerts, crop tips, sales support tools & programs, field diagnostics, and complaint resolution
• Provide quick response to agronomic information, training materials, marketing, and advertising ideas and tools by phone/email/WhatsApp

Required Experience and Education:

• MS in agronomy or closely aligned field.
• International experience - preferred
• 10 or more years of field experience including interacting with farmer’s and field development work
• Fluent in English (written and spoken) and Brazilian Portuguese or Spanish (written and spoken)
• A strong working knowledge of crop protection products (herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, PGR’s and biostimulants), adjuvants and plant nutrition is required
• Experience with tropical and sub-tropical crops highly preferred
• Delivers clear, concise, and effective verbal and written messages appropriate to one’s audience(s)

• Be able interpret statistics and analyze data, understand research protocols, and plot layout and design

Preferred Qualifications:

• PhD, in agronomy or closely aligned field. 10+ years of field experience
• Experience with diverse cropping systems is desired; from row crops such as corn, soybeans, and small grains to horticultural crops like tomato, assorted berries as well as tree crops like avocado, mango, citrus, macadamia, or others

Travel Requirement:

• 50%, The majority occurs January to Mid-May and Mid-September to 1st week of December.
