Join us as an Intake Mental Health Counselor

The Mental Health Counselor, under the supervision of the Chief Admissions Director, is responsible for maintaining a safe therapeutic milieu grounded in the TaraVista Health Treatment Center mission and core principles. As a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team the Mental Health Counselor contributes to each patient’s individual treatment plan by helping develop, implement, and document appropriate goals and interventions, informed by patient strengths and presenting psychiatric problems.

You Bring Meaningful Experience

Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to develop a therapeutic relationship while maintaining professional boundaries
Knowledgeable in the area of psychiatric diagnosis and treatment modalities
Ability to develop appropriate treatment interventions based on developmental needs and/or delays
Ability to manage stressful situations in a calm, organized, and professional manner
Sufficient typing and computer skills to facilitate use of Electronic Health Record required; experience with Electronic Health Record, including Medsphere/Vista preferred
Compliance with hospital standards including CPR, Restraint Reduction, de-escalation/crisis intervention strategy certifications within 30 days of start date.
This position requires direct care to patients, including lifting, moving, and assisting. Regular standing, bending, and walking (including theability to navigate stairs). Capacity to participate in physical restraints of patients and to perform all aspects of Basic Life Support (BLS).

TaraVista Behavioral Health Center is a regional inpatient treatment center serving Middlesex County, Worcester County and Southern New Hampshire.
