Insurance Employee Benefits Account Executive

Position Summary
As the Account Executive for Employee Benefits, you will manage employee benefit plans for client organizations. Your role will involve a high level of client engagement. With the assistance of a support Team, areas of responsibility include open enrollment, renewal processing, employee & employer coverage questions, HR & compliance support, employee claims advocacy, new business processing, and other client needs.

Duties and Responsibilities
The following represents the majority of the duties performed by the position, but is not meant to be all inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary.

1. Maintain Client Relationships

  • Understand client goals and objectives
  • Conduct pre-renewal, post-renewal and check-in calls for all clients
  • Conduct quarterly strategic account planning meetings and annual executive meetings with identified clients
  • Make regular service/relationship calls to clients
  • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with key customer stakeholders and executive sponsors

2. Provide Excellent Customer Support

  • Demonstrate a “whatever it takes” attitude to ensure client satisfaction and to support Unity initiatives
  • Serve as the primary contact for resolution of issues
  • Assist customers with different issues that arise relative to their benefits
  • Develop, implement and manage project plans in conjunction with the client
  • Keep the Referring/Writing Agent fully informed of all important activities on client account

3. Renewal and Open Enrollment Support

  • Request, update and verify census data and materials required for marketing
  • Prepare & provide RFP data/specifications to Marketing Analyst
  • Review current plans compared to quoted plans, evaluate and negotiate options with current & alternative carriers/vendors
  • Develop and negotiate contract terms, rates, plans, schedules, resources, involvement and roles/responsibilities
  • Work with Marketing Specialist to prepare analyses to present to client
  • Identify new opportunities within each customer’s benefit package to enhance their offerings to their employees
  • Conduct employee education meetings for clients as needed.
  • Provide benefit & open enrollment materials, including contracts, booklets, forms and other employee facing materials

4. Develop & Maintain Skills, Knowledge & Proficiencies

  • Continually increase knowledge and grow professionally

  • Personal growth

5. Compliance

  • Ensure Compliance by coordinating filings, and other items that keep the customer in compliance with ERISA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, 5500, etc. requirements

6. Operations

  • Set up, maintain and update client data in Agency Management System
  • Identify the factors which influence business performance and recommend actions to improve profitability and/or enhance efficiencies

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a client facing role in a benefits brokerage organization - preferred
  • Life & Health License - required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, Customer Database & other current technologies
  • Strong and effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills are required
  • Excellent time management skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
