Insturmental Music Teacher/Band Director
Eastern Montgomery High School / Shawsville Middle School
The Montgomery County School Board, Virginia, is now accepting applications for an instrumental music teacher/middle and high school band director position that is available at
EMHS and SMS
for the 2023 - 2024 school year.
This is an 11-month position.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
To develop and implement a music program that will effectively provide the best possible education for each student
QUALIFICATIONS
:
Hold or be eligible for a Virginia Teacher’s License with the appropriate endorsement to teach instrumental music K-12
Fulfill responsibilities outside of the classroom (such as concerts, instrumental performance opportunities, district music events and fine arts events) as they relate to the school music program
Have experience in lesson planning and curriculum development
Have experience and expertise in using technology in education
Have experience or working familiarity with Google Drive for instruction, collaboration and course work
Have effective written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with parents and families
Demonstrate the ability to be dependable and punctual
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experienced in managing and building a high school marching band
