The Instructional Liaison provides occupational and technical expertise to students during their education.

This is a part time, non-benefit (up to 20 hours/week school year position), variable hour opportunity with openings at various facilities throughout Western's district. Opportunity for a variety of dates and times, Monday-Friday. No nights or weekends.


Essential Functions

1. Maintain and uphold the College values of Learning, Excellence, Accountability, Diversity, Student Success, Teamwork, Integrity, and Respect. Regular attendance is required.
2. Perform office function's which may include, but are not limited to: respond to internal/external customers and staff; create and modify documents, records, and reports using College standard software; maintain hard copy and/or electronic filing system; monitor inventory and budget information; schedule, coordinate, and prepare materials for meetings and/or appointments.
3. Complete all required College training and responsible for maintaining the skills necessary to complete the essential functions of the position as defined by the department.
4. Student Success is the cornerstone of Western's culture and the college may assign employees as needed to other areas or additional duties to foster this success.
5. Student Support - Supporting Action/Task May Include:

  • Provide occupational and technical knowledge to support students' learning in the clinical setting
  • Review and evaluate student's clinical competencies, which includes providing exam-specific feedback to students.

Qualifications

Educational and Occupational Experience:

  • Technical Diploma in Machine Tool or CNC plus an Associates Degree in another discipline and 4.5 yrs verifiable occupational experience in the discipline OR
  • Technical Diploma in Machine Tool or CNC plus 4.5 yrs directly related occupational experience (Must be willing to obtain Associate's Degree within an agreed upon timeframe) OR
  • Bachelor's Degree with 2 yrs occupational experience in the discipline
  • Teaching experience preferred
  • A current journeyman license in Tool and Die or related field preferred
  • Solidworks certification preferred

Required Certification/Licenses:

  • Solidworks certification preferred for Machine Tool or CNC
  • Current journeyman license in Tool and Die or related field preferred

This position reports to: Dean of Integrated Technology

Starting salary: $20.61/hour for non-credit courses or $28.86/hour for credit courses
