Lockheed Martin is seeking an Inspection Manager for a position in Orlando, FL to manage Quality Assurance personnel and Quality Systems to assure all manufactured product within Production Centers and Engineering Labs meets or exceeds engineering requirements as well as our quality commitment to our customer. Individual will be responsible for Quality Assurance Management at our Missiles & Fire Control (MFC) site in Orlando for the manufacturing and test of mechanical, electrical, optical, electro-mechanical, and electro-optical components, assemblies, and final systems. Individual will lead a team of Inspection Supervisors and a diverse inspection workforce including Union Represented workforce. Work is reviewed in terms of meeting the organization's objectives, schedules, and financial goals. Responsibilities include:
Responsible for subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition / disciplinary actions.
Ability to effectively interact / team with quality engineering, manufacturing, and planning. Communicates issues to management when needed.
Integrates with Production team in troubleshooting area quality inspection execution deficiencies / resources.
Understands production workflow and daily requirements.
Engaged in resolving daily floor issues with production operations working independently with minimal oversight.
Reviews documentation related to internal and external manufacturing processes to ensure quality products are delivered to the customer.
Establishes operating policies and procedures that affect Quality Assurance organization.
Utilizes lean initiatives to reduce waste and maintain continuous improvement.
Develops and supports initiatives to drive digital and automation/robotic advancements of inspection processes, tools, and ways of working.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
Interfaces with internal and external customers.
Drive the Quality mindset throughout the multi-functional disciplines.
Basic Qualifications:
Appropriate degree at the Bachelor level or above from an accredited college, or equivalent experience / combined education, with professional experience commensurate with assignment.
Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance
Advanced knowledge of AS9100 standard and implementation of Quality Management System
Experienced as a team lead and facilitator
Experience in making risk based data driven decisions
Ability to analyze and resolve process issues varying from basic to very complex.
Skilled in driving the development and implementation of process improvements and quality systems in manufacturing processes
Prior professional experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience working with Union Bargaining Committees / Representatives
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
Demonstrated presentation skills
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills that promote teamwork across multiple functions and motivate support personnel to achieve common goals
Desired Skills:
Experienced Quality Assurance Manager
ASQ Certifications
Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
Experience with use of inspection gages and measuring equipment
Experience working with for a Defense Contractor and with Government customers
Knowledge or experience in drawing interpretation
Knowledge in compliance, audits, and corrective action experience
Project Lead experience
