Customer Service Representative

American Wood Fibers (AWF) is a manufacturer of both consumer and industrial products that are sold to multiple manufacturers as well as pet, agricultural, and home-heating markets. AWF is comprised of 450+ employees and holds operations at 11 locations, generating over $100M in annual sales revenue. We are currently seeking a candidate for the Customer Service Representative role in our Marion, VA location.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interact with customers and vendors via phone and email, processes customer orders from order entry until completion of customer delivery.
  • Communicate any issues in completing order shipments and diligently works in finding solutions to complete orders.
  • Accurately enter orders and communicates shipment details with customers, internal and external production, and shipping teams.
  • Document all customer interactions and history in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database on a daily basis.
  • Work closely with Account Managers in managing customer’s orders, shipments and inventory.
  • Manage multiple Excel spreadsheets with high confidence and other Microsoft office programs.
  • Monitor and address open orders that might be in jeopardy of not meeting their ship date.
  • Work closely with multiple plant personnel to ensure orders are scheduled and delivered.
  • Prospect and/or qualify new leads to assist with sales campaign activities.
  • Engage in inside-sales for seasonal items.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate’s Degree preferred but not required.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities and competing deadlines.
  • Has strong organizational & communication skills (both written and oral).
  • High degree of initiative and independent execution with ability to problem solve.
  • Able to make the best overall decisions based on KPI performance metrics, service requirements, freight needs, economic factors and customer relations.
  • Proficient in MS Office. Excel skillset must be at a high level.
  • Accurate data entry skills including processing credit card payments.
  • Professional phone manner and effective written communications skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of customer focus.

EXPERIENCE

2+ years with order entry preferred

REQUIRED: Experience with EDI (Electronic Data Interchange)

COMPENSATION

Range: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
