Role: Infra Systems Engineer (#19663)

Location: Remote

Duration: 6+ months, 40 hrs / week, Extendable

Client: Salesforce.com (SFDC)

Description:

· Tableau’s CI (continuous Integration) Infrastructure team is responsible for the maintenance and support of application tooling used to build Tableau's products. This contract position will help implement observability metrics related to the health and performance of that toolchain.

· Work to automate detection and resolution of recurring issues in the production environment

· Design, implement, and deploy observability-related systems covering application & infrastructure telemetry and logs, metric visualizations and alerting management

· Develop tools, dashboard alerts, and training that quickly enable team with deeper insights into application performance and service health issues reducing their MTTR and MTTD

· Keep the customer-facing services available at top performance by maintaining the constant health of the supporting systems

· Ensuring that work carried out by the CI Infrastructure team is performed in such a way as to align with the company’s internal compliance policy and directives

· Being available to discuss and resolve technical issues and escalations with other technical staff as the need arises

· Ability to operate in the fast paced environment and troubleshoot complex issues quickly successfully handle multiple priorities

Required Skills/Experience:

· Experience with the implementation and administration of observability tools (e.g., New Relic/Splunk/DataDog)

· Experience with configuring and managing AWS (Amazon Web Services)

· Experience with CLI enterprise support of Linux

· Experience with Windows administration

· Experience with writing SQL queries (e.g., SQL Server, Postgresql, or MySQL)

· Experience with network fundamentals (routing, etc)

· Strong communication skills (Written and Oral)

Preferred Qualifications:

· Python/BASH/Powershell scripting experience

· Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Cloudformation)

· Prior Ansible or another configuration management/automated deployment experience

· Experience with implementing a monitoring and alert system.

· Experience with maintaining Java applications

· Experience with Docker orchestration and management.

· Experience with Kubernetes

· Experience with JVM optimization and Java server technologies like Tomcat or Jetty

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $65.00 - $70.00 per hour
