We are seeking a Registered Nurse with experience and expertise in creating and managing an effective Infection Control program in our facility. Responsibilities of the Infection Control Nurse (RN):

• Support the facility's philosophy of care and strive to achieve its goals and objectives
• Establish the documentation format for all Infection Control reporting
• Establish specific policies and procedures for Infection Control as it relates to the following departments: nursing; maintenance; laundry; dietary; rehabilitation; and ancillary services
• Monitor the documentation of incidents of infection and file for reporting and analysis
• Address patterns or trends in the incidents of infection with appropriate follow-up and corrective action
• Supervise the performance of the corrective procedures by designated departments or individual staff
• Establish the objectives of Infection Control education and provide training and in services to facilitate their attainment
• Maintain the confidentiality of resident information
• Work as weekend Supervisor as part of Department head monthly rotation

of the Infection Control Nurse (RN):

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and hold a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Illinois
• Skilled Nursing Facility Infection Prevention Experience
• Infection Control Certification required
• Must have working knowledge of general nursing and geriatric nursing
• Knowledge of JCAHO, OBRA, IDPH, HFS regulations
• Compassion, tolerance and understanding of older adults
