Chemical Dependency Technician -
Project Turnabout has openings for an on-call/PRN Chemical Dependency Technician in Marshall, MN.
Job duties:
- Assist counselor and resident with Intake and Orientation to facility.
- Observe, monitor and document in chart, client behaviors, including following of or non-compliance with program schedule, expectations and responsibilities.
- Interaction with each client present should occur on each shift. Documentation will be done for every client every shift unless client is on pass.
- Maintain treatment team communication through checking mailbox, utilizing communication log, reading client charts, checking client sign out sheets, and verbal communications with other staff each shift and during monthly staff meetings.
- Make note of any client appointments on the tech’s office calendar.
- Document any client medication taken, any medical complaints or doctor's visits. Pass medications to clients and log med passes. Make note in communication log of need for medication refill. Complete incident reports in event of accident or injury.
- Utilize Alco-swab tests and/or obtain urine specimen for possible use of mood altering chemicals at any time resident behavior may warrant such.
- Answer business phones in absence of Office Assistant, taking messages or referring crises calls to the Granite Falls number.
- Assist residents with meal preparation/planning as needed and initial completion of such in food handling manuals.
- Assist residents with learning housekeeping/cleaning skills as needed. Check each apartment, the basement areas and lounge for cleanliness each shift, informing clients of responsibilities needing attention.
Physical Requirements;
1. Must be able to lift 35 pounds occasionally
2. Must be able to see and hear well enough to operate motor vehicles safely with or without corrections
3. Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, and squat for the purposes of cleaning patient rooms and washing bedding, this may constitute about 15% of job duties
4. Must be able to tolerate chemical odors from cleaning supplies in the process of cleaning rooms.
5. Must be able to sit (50%), stand, and walk (10-20%) for periods of time
Qualifications:
· High school degree or Equivalent
· Must be 18 years of age, able to pass MN Dept of Human Services Background check and be free from any alcohol/gambling/drug addiction for 1 year or longer.
