Title: Human Resources (HR) Manager
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer

Position Overview: The Human Resource Business Partner is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of Verve Coffee Roasters.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and implement HR efforts that effectively communicate and support the company's mission and strategic vision.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to understand Verve’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, hiring and retention.
- Plan, lead, develop, coordinate, and implement policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organizations human resource compliance and strategy needs.
- Plan employee benefit, payroll, health, welfare, wellness and safety programs.
- Analyze trends in compensation and benefits; research and propose competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
- Administer or oversee the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and occupational health and safety;
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; apply this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
- Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Provide support and guidance to HR generalist, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
- Oversee our payroll and performance evaluation systems.
- Develop and maintain, in conjunction with senior leadership, an appropriate format and cadence for company employee and community communications;
- Ensure proper support in all the steps of the “employees’ life cycle”
- Other job duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience leading HR department(s) through strategic and transactional change
- Demonstrated initiative in determining new or modifying existing HR policies and procedures and effectively communicating them to staff and senior leadership
- Demonstrated organizational leadership and decision-making capability in a collaborative manner.
- Ability to communicate to staff and senior leadership the short and long-term impact, specific and strategic, of HR policy and procedures.
- Ability to manage budgets and experience working closely with a CFO to achieve organizational financial goals.
- Strong aptitude for task prioritization
- Must be approachable, mindful, and positive
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources
- HR Certification (SHRM, SPHR, etc.) strongly desired
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in human resources
