Job Purpose*: Under the general supervision of the Human Resources Manager, the HR Generalist assists the Human Resources Manager in the human resources activities of Sonoma County Indian Health project, Inc. The HR Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the HR Team to carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: departmental development, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organization development, executive administration, and employment, HRIS systems and administration of employee leaves of absences.
Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in business administration with an emphasis in Human Resources preferred.
• Associates Degree (A.A) in Human Resources, Business, Communications, Project Management, or related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in in a human resources role, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of state and federal employment law including HR technical knowledge of EEO, AA, FMLA, ADA, unemployment, and worker’s compensation.
• Ability to maintain a high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional organizations skills and impeccable attention to detail.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical and background investigation.
• MUST have proof of completed COVID and Booster vaccines.

Special Qualifications: Must be sensitive to the needs of the Native American Community, which includes culture, traditions, and background.
