Human Resources Assistant/Front Desk


Summary/Objective

Under supervision, the human resource assistant performs work of moderate difficulty in human resources and benefits administration. The HR Assistant supports new hire onboarding, tracks company drivers, supports frontline employee reimbursements and paycheck distribution, data entry, employment verifications and other administrative support for the HR team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Performs a wide range of duties relative to the maintenance and processing of personnel records and reports.
  • Supports new hire onboarding process, in person and using automated onboarding tools.
  • Tracks and processes bonuses for the employee referral program.
  • Supports and tracks company drivers for Paragon.
  • Supports reimbursements and payroll distribution for frontline employees.
  • Processes background and drug testing for recruiting.
  • Updates Paragon employee information.
  • Audits form I-9s.
  • Supports employment verifications.
  • Fields employee questions and forwards to appropriate teams (payroll, Director of HR or other staff).
  • Supports employee benefits programs as directed.
  • Handles walk in candidates as directed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.


SUPERVISORY responsibility

This position does not have supervisory responsibility.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.


Travel
No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

  • High School diploma.
  • At least two year of work experience in a clerical support position.
  • Any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

Responsibilities:

Answer, screen, and forward calls, providing information, taking messages and scheduling appointments.

Greet individuals entering establishment, determine nature and purpose of visit, and direct or guides them to specific destinations

Transmit information or documents to internal and external customers via phone and email.

Provide information about establishment, such as location of departments or offices, employees within the organization, or services provided.

Assist Talent Specialist with scheduling onsite interviews and confirming appointments with applicants and new hires.

Collect, sort, distribute and prepare mail, messages, and courier deliveries.

Responsible for Uniform inventory, which includes keeping the uniform room tidy and organized.

Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with employees, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc.
