The sixth UGN facility in Monroe, Ohio, officially opened in September 2015. The state-of-the-art facility has more than 475 team members and supplies Honda Motor Co. with superior acoustic insulation, carpet, and underfloor technologies. In the fall of 2018, UGN expanded the Monroe plant by adding another 150,000 square feet to the $50 million, 232,500 square foot facility to supply Toyota and Subaru. The UGN Monroe facility has already distinguished itself to Honda for exceptional service. Every year, Honda recognizes suppliers who increase value to the customer by removing waste within the overall product and supply chain. The HR Generalist administers policies relating to all facets of human resources activity by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain knowledge of current legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
  • Recruit, interview, test, and select candidates to fill vacant plant positions.
  • Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
  • Maintain records of personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
  • Train management in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, and safety and sexual harassment compliance.
  • Advise management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Administer performance review and compensation program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the organization.
  • Administer employee absences, leaves of absence and employee assistance program.
  • Assist in the administration of employee benefit plans participation.
  • Investigate accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier.
  • Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  • May indirectly supervise other employees in the Human Resources Department.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree from four-year college or university; and two plus years related HR experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prefer candidates with broad HR experience from manufacturing environment.
  • Desire a positive, welcoming, “can-do” attitude.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of Human Resource Information Systems (UKG); Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel; Payroll systems.
  • Ability to train small or large groups of people.
