Job description
The ideal candidate will support the day-to-day HR functions including but not limited to HR administration, basic timekeeping records, workers comp, training and development, records maintenance and other various projects.
Essential Functions
- Provide administrative support to the HR department, including:
- assist with creating and maintaining human resources documents and office communications
- Filing and making copies
- Review timekeeping errors and provide instructions to users about how to correct them
- Track and maintain training and compliance records
- Occasional project work, such as transitioning new hire paper documents to electronic versions
- Assist with workers compensation, disability, leave, workplace accommodation requests, and health and safety issues
- Onboard new hires and conduct orientation.
- Assist with annual HR processes such as flu shot clinics and holiday calendar creation.
- Handle employment verification letters and calls
- Maintain HRIS records and create/generate reports as needed.
- Create and maintain filing systems, both physical and electronic.
- Performs other ad hoc Human Resources related duties, as required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- One (1) to two (2) years of relevant general administrative support/human resource experience.
- Previous experience with or the ability to quickly learn a cloud based human resource information systems (HRIS) database.
- Professional integrity and sense of responsibility and accountability
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications, especially Excel, Word, and Google Docs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Three (3) or more years of relevant general administrative support/human resource experience.
- HRCI or SHRM Certification (PHR, SHRM-CP)
- Experience with Paycom cloud based HR software
