HPUMC Kids Coordinator

This is a Full Time position that provides a salary commensurate with experience and outstanding benefits in a truth and grace filled work environment.

The HPUMC Kids Curriculum & Special Events Curriculum is responsible for overseeing the delivery of engaging content for weekly programs as well as special events while building strong relationships with families, volunteers and staff.

Reports To: Director of Children’s Ministry

FLSA Status: Exempt

Campus: HPUMC

Working Hours: This is a full-time position that will work an anticipated 36 hours per week: Monday through Thursday 8:30 - 5:00 pm (including a 30-minute lunch break) and Sundays 8:30 am -12:30 pm.

During certain times of the year additional hours may be necessary to meet the demands of the job. All church staff will be asked to support and serve for religious holidays and worship services including Christmas Eve and Easter. Presence on occasional Sundays is also requested to ensure that one has the firsthand understanding of the church culture.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

Serve as pastor to children (birth thru 5th grade)

  • Oversight of 0-5th Christian Ed Curriculum selection, integration, and teaching
  • Provide curriculum support and guidance with HPUMC Kids Nursery Coordinator, Preschool Coordinator, Elementary Coordinator, and HPUMC Day School
  • Ensure consistency of teaching across all ministries/age levels.
  • Assist with scheduling, communication, and execution of infant baptisms.
  • Support integration of Christian Education in HPUMC Day School by planning and leading the weekly Celebration Service, special classes, and resourcing teachers.
  • Collaborate with HPUMC Day School on events or programs that cross over ministries.
  • Oversight and execution of special events for HPUMC Kids: VBS, Advent Festival, etc.

Education and Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 2+ Years ministry experience (staff or volunteer)
  • Background in education / child development
  • Proven track record of fostering relationships

Preferred Software Experience:

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • G Suite (Google, Gmail, Calendar, etc…)
  • Touchpoint Church Management System

Physical Demands:

  • Sitting Standing Walking Seeing Hearing
  • Speaking Lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds Fine Motor Skills
