HOUSING POLICY ANALYST

Our client, a major non-profit association, seeks a Housing Policy Analyst for an 18-Month contract assignment in Washington, DC which may be performed fully remotely by a well-qualified candidate. This is a unique opportunity to serve as a housing policy and industry analyst for the nation’s largest consumer organization devoted to empowering people to choose how they live as they age.

The Organization’s Housing Issue Area Team works toward helping to:

  • Grow public demand for age-friendly housing options and products
  • Increase the supply of age-friendly housing options and products at all socioeconomic levels
  • Reduce policy barriers to age-friendly housing innovation across the country
  • Reduce housing-related financial insecurity among households at all socioeconomic levels

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior housing team staff (VP and Director) to conduct research, draft written materials for senior staff including briefings, presentations and talking points.
  • Provide policy analysis and/or industry analysis on key housing issues.
  • Ability and willingness to discuss and share insights on key housing issues and trends.
  • Identify/flag priority lists for Housing Issue Area lead and deputy.
  • Support the team’s effort to disseminate and publicize reports, findings, and events.
  • Prepare periodic summary reports and briefings.
  • Provide regular project related updates to Housing Issue Area team and participate in weekly team meetings.
  • Coordinate and schedule key meetings, including agenda development, drafting minutes, noting action items, and following up to ensure completion.
  • Assist with speaking engagements and presentations, including, but not limited to coordinating meetings, audience research, preparing slide decks and talking points, and providing materials.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree with three or more years of demonstrated experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience related to the duties of the position.
  • Knowledge of and interest in housing history, policy (federal, state, local), and private sector solutions, particularly related to the goals listed above.
  • Exceptional project management skills.
  • Comfort with public speaking to a variety of internal and external audiences.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to be highly adaptable to a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and electronic communication.
  • Comfort with a “virtual” work environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Temporary

Pay: $36.00 - $38.00 per hour
