Our client, a prominent human services organization in Boston, is urgently seeking a Housing Placement Specialist to help provide housing solutions for those that need them. You will work to support guests of the program by connecting them to housing resources, and facilitating communication with community partners, including housing authorities and property owners.

Position Summary:

• Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with availability for early mornings, nights and weekends.
• $21 - $22 per hour commensurate with experience

Responsibilities:

• Perform client intakes and assessments
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
• Work with individuals to create an individualized service plan and housing sustainability plan.
• Provide housing stabilization services to individuals placed in permanent housing, including home visits as needed, assistance with connecting with community resources and acquiring the basic skills necessary to maintain permanent housing.
• Provide referral and case management services to guests, including initial and ongoing development of individual service plans, referrals and access to appropriate services
• Maintain thorough knowledge of human/social services networking opportunities available in Boston and surrounding areas.
• Provide assistance with accessing services, resources and referrals for needs such as transportation, emergency clothes, food pantries, DTA and other governmental offices, and other community resources.

Qualifications:

• BSW, BA or BS in human services related field (or 3 years' equivalent experience in a social service setting)
• Minimum of one year of experience working with a homeless population, providing direct care and/or active case management and referral services to homeless individuals.
• Experience working with people who have untreated mental illness, and/or active substance addiction
• Knowledge of the issues related to homelessness, particularly around housing, S/A, mental illness and economic factors as precipitants to homelessness
• Must be able to drive a 15 passenger van
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
