The primary purpose of the position is to perform the day-to-day activities of the Housekeeping Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by the Housekeeping & Laundry Supervisor, to assure that our facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.

Tasks

· Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned.

· Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.

· Clean/polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units, etc., in resident rooms, recreational areas, etc., daily as instructed.

· Clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom toilets and fixtures. Ensure watermarks are removed from toilets and fixtures.

· Clean windows/mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entrance/exit ways.

· Clean floors, to include sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, disinfecting, etc. (NOTE: Ensure that appropriate caution/safety signs are properly set up prior to performing such duties.)

· Clean carpets and rugs, to include vacuuming, removal of stains, deodorizing, and disinfecting.

· Clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing, etc.

· Remove dirt, dust, grease, film, etc. from surfaces using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions.

· Clean hallways, stairways, and elevators, to include dusting/wiping handrails and ledges.

· Clean vacant rooms and rooms scheduled for cleaning as assigned and document cleaning, to include walls, floors, stands/dressers, cleaning beds, bathrooms, and any other area inhabited by the previous resident.

· Discard waste/trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacle with plastic liner.

· Remove unnecessary tape or markings from walls, dressers, or armoires.

· Ensure work/assignment areas are clean and that equipment, tools, supplies, etc., are properly stored at all times to include leaving such areas for breaks, meal times, and end of the work day.

· Ensure established infection control and universal precautions practices are maintained.

· Use appropriate personal protective equipment and supplies when handling infectious materials.

· Complete documentation and record keeping as needed.

· Assist in locating misplaced resident clothing.

· Participate in and promote staff participation in facility-wide special activities such as dress up days and special observances.

· Attend facility in-services, and activity workshops and seminars as directed by your supervisor or the Administrator.

· Help with purchasing supplies as needed.

· Follow established fire safety policies and procedures.

· Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies.

· Report all incidents and accidents immediately.

· Maintain confidentiality of resident information.

· Knock before entering a resident’s room.

· Honor the resident’s personal and property rights.

· Inform resident when it is necessary to move his/her personal possessions during cleaning procedures.

· Must work well with other departments.

· Any other duties deemed necessary by your supervisor.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $14.39 - $15.88 per hour
