Aurora Charter Oak Hospital has been delivering Behavioral Health Treatment Services for over 80 years. We are located on 10 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds in Covina, California. Covina is about 22 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, in the San Gabriel Valley, close to 10, 60 and 210 FWY.

We have an opening for an HIM Director.

The Director of HIM is responsible for maintaining the legal medical record; ensuring accuracy, quality, and completion of the records. Day to day responsibilities could include:

· Establishes and oversees policies, procedures, standards, and objectives for medical records services; monitors staff compliance.

· Assures that records are consistent with policy for completeness, accuracy and standards of conformance and meeting standards of various accrediting and regulatory agencies.

· Develops and prepares statistical reports and analyses based on records in order to analyze the facility's medical activities.

· Provides recorded medical information to individuals with proper authorization; develops and implements procedures to respond to appropriate requests for information and subpoenas.

· Other related duties and responsibilities that may become necessary or appropriate.

Education & Experience:

· Bachelor degree in health information management or related field required

· 3 years or more experience as an HIM Director

· Experience with EMR

· Knowledge of ICD-10 and ICD-10 PCS required

· RHIT, RHIA preferred

· Experience in psychiatric setting, Psych and Chemical Dependency experience preferred

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Pay: $98,000.00 - $146,000.00 per year
