Heavy Truck Driver

Location: PrimarilyNational Capital Region

Responsibilities:

• Provide transportation support to Department of Patient Administration MEDEVAC team when required.
• Provide transportation support to hospital staff and Troop Command when required
• Provide transportation support to Wounded Warriors for event transportation.
• Perform required administrative duties
• Provide customer service to entire hospital community through knowledge and phone courtesy.
• Vehicles driven will include:
• Patient Evacuation Vehicle (PEV)
• Medical Ambus 44 passenger
• Ambulances
• Luggage Truck
• All Airbrakes vehicles
• Vans, sedans, pick-ups, SUV’s

Qualifications:

· US Citizen

· 7+ years’ experience as a driver in the National Capital Region with excellent verbal and writing skills.

· High School Diploma or Equivalency Licensure/Certification/Registration.

· CDL Class A with Passenger (P) and Airbrake Endorsements or CDL Class B with the ability to obtain CDL Class A within 90 days of start date.

· Ability to successfully complete Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) and maintain certificate as required.

· Ability to complete GSA Defensive Driver’s Course within 90 days of being on board

· Ability to remain current with licensing/certificates/training by Continuing Education.

· Ability to read, write, speak and understand English well enough to effectively communicate with customers, supervisor and dispatchers for assignments, route information and customer service.

Ability to successfully pass a Tier III background investigation

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
