Your role:

As a YMCA Healthy Living Instructor, you will be working with individuals of all ages to help them set and achieve goals. You will be acting as a personal trainer, group exercise instructor, and health coach. You will encourage lifestyle change for improved health, fitness, and well-being.

Your day to day will include a variety of responsibilities, such as teaching a fitness class, working one-on-one with a client, or facilitating a health management group.

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability

Education and Experience:

Required certifications: Personal training certification or college-level education equivalent; CPR and First Aid certification required within 60 days of hire. Additional specialty certifications appreciated in group exercise, yoga, indoor cycling, or special populations.

Education & Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. 2 years of professional experience in related field.

Additional specialty certifications appreciated in group exercise, yoga, indoor cycling, or special populations.

Team player, with superb interpersonal community skills. An ability to work with co-workers and the public in a positive and friendly manner and resolve conflicts as needed.

Self-starter with the ability to maintain a flexible schedule and multi-task, work independently and adapt to changing circumstances in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

License/Certification:

• Certified Personal Trainer Certificate (Preferred)
