Job description

We are looking for Handyman/Janitor/Maintenance individual to join our Team and take care of our preschool facility, handle small repairs, cleaning and maintenance duties. The goal is to keep our building in a very clean and orderly condition.

Monday-Friday / Hours: 3pm-11pm

3-4 hours of this scheduled shift will be for cleaning/janitorial duties.

Responsibilities for Janitorial Tasks

• Clean, stock and supply designated facility areas (sanitizing, dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning, etc)
• Carry out heavy cleaning tasks and special projects
• Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs
• Make adjustments and minor repairs
• Stock and maintain supply rooms
• Cooperate with the rest of the staff
• Follow all health and safety regulations

Skills

• Proven working experience
• Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
• Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets
• Integrity
• High school degree

Responsibilities for Handyman & Maintenance Tasks

Deft hands and technical knowledge are important parts of a handyman’s arsenal. You must be well-organized with strong general repair skills. A keen eye for detail and physical stamina are valued greatly in this job.

• Perform maintenance and light repairs
• Paint, touch-up, spackle
• Undertake light installation or carpentry
• Repair equipment or appliances
• Drywall and Trim work
• Assist tradespeople with electrical, plumbing or HVAC repairs
• Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks (e.g. shoveling snow)
• Lawn Care & Maintenance
• Identify and report the need for major repairs
• Flooring (buffing, waxing)

Skills

• Proven experience as handyman
• Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment
• Electrical/HVAC/Plumbing
• Basic math skills
• Good communication
• Well-organized and apt in problem-solving
• Attention to detail
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Fast Paced
• Able to work with people and guide them on the job site

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
