THPRD is looking for….Community and safety oriented individuals with a desire to share their passion for sports and leadership, who are able to communicate with a wide range of people. The Gym Monitor is responsible for supervising play, enforcing rules and court etiquette, sportsmanship, and equipment management. Current Openings: Conestoga Recreation & Aquatic Center is hiring for multiple positions to support drop-in sports and gymnasium activities. Gym Monitors are typically scheduled 2.5 to 12 hours per week; primarily 7:15pm-9:45pm, Monday-Thursday, with the possibility of shifts weekend evenings and weekday mornings. Part-time employees are scheduled variable hours and may work less than 1,560 hours per year.Gym Monitor: Job ExpectationsThis job is primarily performed in an indoor environment.Requires standing and walking for long periods of time. Staff are typically exposed to noises and interruptions, such as bouncing balls, sudden loud noises, including multiple voices and yelling within a crowded environment. The flow of work and character of duties involve normal mental and visual attention much or all the time. Manual dexterity and coordination is required, making up more than 50% of the work period. Physical exertion may be to lift sporting equipment (volleyball nets, table tennis tables, etc.) or items weighing less than 40 pounds. The Gym Monitor will help keep our patrons safe by providing knowledge and experience to adjust programming to meet each patrons needs. Complex monitors support patrons in adhering to our Covid-19 related policies and procedures, to help us maintain safer environments for all.
