JOB DESCRIPTION

Our Grocery Associates are the people that greet our customers and work to send them home with everything they need for a great meal. This role is a combination of customer service and production, as our Grocery Associates work with our Butchers to prepare items for customers to take home, and then work with the customer to get the items onto the customer's dinner plate.

Our Grocery Associates work with a team of 25 other retail employees, in addition to a number of butchers and production employees. They report to our Retail Manager and have daily access to the company's Vice President.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Grocery Associates perform a wide range of tasks, including:

• Taking customer orders, preparing them for the customer, and checking out customers.
• Marinating meats like chicken breasts and pork tenderloins to sell to customers.
• Wrapping and packaging meats like steaks, pork chops, and bratwursts for customers.
• Using a deli slicer to slice cheese & meat for customers.
• Cleaning food contact surfaces, equipment, tools, and the store to maintain a clean and welcoming environment in our store.
• Other projects as necessary.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to stand for an 8 hour shift (includes 2 - 15 minute and 1 - 30 minute break).
• Ability to work in a cold environment (our freezers are cold, but we have jackets!)

• Ability to safely use sharp objects such as butcher knives, and deli slicers.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and make repetitive movements for certain tasks.
