Job description
The Grant Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and supporting new and existing government and foundation fundraising initiatives to generate increased revenue to support our work.
Duties and responsibilities
- Formulate and write foundation letters of inquiry, grant proposals, reports and other related communication.
- Research and write government grant applications, reports and other related communication.
- Maintain grant and funding details in Salesforce.
- Generate reports from our internal database systems.
- Develop and prepare supporting materials for grant proposals.
- Research and identify new sources of support, track grants and deadlines and ensure timely submissions of required documentation in Salesforce.
- Track grant reporting schedules and research and prepare timely outcome reports for funded grants.
- Work closely with the program staff to become familiar with program operations and innovations and ensure compelling and high quality submissions.
- Work closely with CHART’s Lead Researcher and Data Analyst in order to gather supporting data for applications from the ETO database.
- Represent Covenant House in meetings, site visits, phone conversations, and events both internally and externally.
- Organize site visits for potential funders.
- Work with varied leadership teams as needed to develop and implement agency wide initiatives.
- Assist as needed with fundraising affairs and special events, which could be conducted outside of the employee’s normal work schedule.
- Create and maintain a library of written descriptions of program activities for agency publications.
- Provide writing support for CHNJ communication efforts.
- Check company e-mail daily and maintain a current Google calendar.
- All other duties assigned by management staff.
Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field from an accredited college or university.
- 3-5 years of experience working in a nonprofit environment.
- Salesforce experience preferred.
- Exemplary organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet firm deadlines required.
- Must be computer literate and proficient in E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Suite products, PDF.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to interact effectively with management, donors, government and foundation funders with discretion and confidentiality.
- Must be able to occasionally work evenings and weekends as needed for special events, meetings and deadline requirements.
- Valid Drivers’ License with insurable driving record.
- Must be able to travel throughout the state for government/foundation meetings.
- Writing Samples required.
- Computer & Writing Skills testing will be conducted as part of the interview process.
- Must Be Fully Vaccinated for Covid 19
