St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport has more than 3,200 employees. It includes a 473-bed community teaching hospital, a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and children. St. Vincent's is the first hospital in Fairfield County to be integrated into the Hartford HealthCare network, and is the system's second-largest hospital.

Job Summary

  • Assists with procedures ordered by physician and supervised by a Registered Nurse.
  • Assists patients with tending to personal care, activities of daily living and transfers/transport.
  • Reports findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to population specific facilitating timely and individualized care of assigned patients.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited Registered Nurse program prior to start date. BSN preferred.
  • Must pass NCLEX and be licensed as an RN in the State of CT within 90 days of graduation from ASN/BSN program.
  • BLS required within 60 days of hire.
  • An excellent opportunity to develop a strong skillset in multiple service lines.

All New Graduate RNs will participate in a year-long Nurse Residency Program (NRP) with a curriculum proven to improve decision-making competence and confidence, nursing leadership and critical thinking skills, and provide a higher-level of overall support during the time of transition to professional practice.

The Nurse Residency Program offers monthly seminars that will compliment nursing orientation and the unique training provided to Registered Nurses in our various units across the hospital.
