The Global Logistics Leader is responsible for strategic planning, execution and management of the daily functions of the International and Domestic Logistics department. This includes the transportation of Vista Outdoor goods and services, with the objective that all products be delivered on time, to the proper destination, in the quantity ordered, and with the agreed upon quality standards at the lowest price possible to be consistent with the expectations of the company and customers.

Essential Job Functions:

Manage all Domestics and International Freight

  • Responsible for managing all inbound and Outbound shipments, including working with carriers and 3PL providers to ensure excellent delivery performance
  • Create processes and find opportunities to reduce spend while maintain quality and on time delivery
  • Align, provide direction, and support the Vista sites worldwide on Logistics matters
  • Responsible for logistics budgets and maintaining cost analysis reports
  • Oversee all origin planning of ocean freight with Forwarder
  • Promote continuous improvement and value-added management in a service and team-oriented basis.
  • Manage the Supply Chain to find opportunities for reducing our total cost while maintaining quality and on-time-delivery metrics
  • Responsible for communication to the Inventory Planners and Asia Logistics team of market intelligence in the International Logistics industry
  • Initiate and maintain effective and professional relationships with existing and new vendors
  • Interact with buyers, customer service, trade compliance, QA, product development, accounting, and distribution personnel to resolve all shipment related discrepancies and issues.
  • Correspond with overseas and domestic subsidiaries, vendors, and freight forwarders to resolve any logistics service-related matters.
  • Produce global transportation metrics for all transportation lanes, evaluate them, and present the final data to upper management.
  • Lead Supply Chain Network Analysis projects for Vista sites
  • Manage the supply chain to find opportunities for reducing our total cost while maintaining quality and on-time-delivery metrics

Lead annual Ocean and Air RFP

  • Responsible for preparing statistical data for contract negotiations
  • Work closely with all sales contacts and answer questions as it relates to the RFP
  • Perform cost analyzes to determine the lowest possible total cost that is consistent with the needs of the company
  • Lead negotiations for Vista sites, analyze, award lanes, and assign allocations based on rates and performance

Manage Domestic and International Associates

  • Train, coach, motivate and create a culture of continuous improvement and customer satisfaction
  • Performance Management goal setting and annual reviews
  • Hiring of high-performance associates
  • Mentor new employees
  • Manage difficult situations with direct reports

Education and Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
  • Supply Chain or Logistics degree preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of Executive Management experience in Supply Chain, Distribution and Logistics
  • Customs compliance and processes
  • General accounting principles
  • Transportation Management Systems software
  • FTZ experience preferred

  • Ability to plan and complete projects on time
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to delegate tasks
  • MS Office proficiency (Word and Excel).
  • Ability to work weekends as needed
  • Ability to participate in after-hours calls with Asia Logistics teams

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
