We are looking for someone in the early stages of their Geographic Information System (GIS) career to join a growing team in our growing company. In this role you will utilize the latest GIS software for data manipulation and data schema development to create a spatial record of GoNetspeed’s telecommunication network. You will be part of a diverse team from different geographies with a mix of senior and more junior members. In this job you will have exposure to multiple GIS platforms and be part of a team that is implementing a new enterprise-wide GIS system. You will have work from home flexibility and opportunity for professional growth. This is an office environment design position but may require periodic field work. Work in office or report remotely to any of our; Blountsville, AL; New Gloucester, ME; or Bangor, ME locations.

Responsibilities:

• Create, edit, and maintain GIS data in ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Enterprise, and other GIS platforms used by the company.
• Create and update data schemas as directed.
• Assist in creating data exports, map products, and delivery packages.
• Assist in data analysis, transformation, translation, and other data manipulation tasks.

Specific Job Functions:

• Work with Outside Plant (OSP) Engineering and GIS Team to review current designs to understand the principles and practices of the current system designs.
• Perform spatial and attribute updates for telecommunication networks using as-built drawings and mobile electronic data collection.
• Map network design for fiber to the premise deployment & other telecommunications applications.
• Produce maps of the existing, engineered, and planned OSP design.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.*

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Prefer at least 1-year of experience with GIS software. ArcGIS experience highly desired.
• Experience with MapWise, Google Maps/Earth, or AutoCAD a plus.
• General computer proficiency and familiarity with basic business programs (email, Windows, web browser, Excel) required.
• Demonstrated interest and ability in learning new software programs and program features.
• Attention to detail is paramount.
• Ability to work independently on multifaceted projects.
• Ability to manage to deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
• Willingness to work overtime.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent. Associates or bachelor’s degree in GIS preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
