As a GIS Engineer/Analyst you will support a variety of offshore wind farm projects throughout all life-cycle stages in relation to all GIS specific requests and tasks with your expertise. You are responsible for all GIS-related services in alignment with the specific project requirements and needs (e.g. data management, data processing, analysis, visualization etc.

Your responsibilities:

• Support of our offshore wind projects in the US as well as our planned due diligence projects in all GIS related activities and work packages. This includes, but is not limited to, project specific spatial data processing, data management, data processing, data analysis, provision of technical specifications for externals, desktop map production etc.;
• Design, configuration and further development of interactive web applications for offshore projects in alignment with the project-specific customer requirements;
• Support of the GIS team in the context of efficient geo-data management as well as development and implementation of suitable software solutions and efficient processes to optimize relevant GIS data management, analysis and visualization;
• Collaboration and implementation of processes to standardize services from the GIS team (e.g. “constraints mapping”) in the context of due diligence activities and across all project life-cycle stages;

Your Profile:

• Degree in GIS, Geoinformatic or a geoscience/engineering science degree and GIS related sciences (spatial planning, environmental studies);
• Minimum of 3 year’s experience as GIS Analyst / Engineer in a professional environment
• Experience in marine / renewable sectors, knowledge of wind energy projects is a plus;
• Previous experience of GIS projects with the help of desktop GIS software (data management, data processing, analysis, visualization);
• Knowledge in the use and configuration of server GIS incl. web application development / configuration (esp. ESRI products) ideally in an enterprise GIS environment is a plus, but not mandatory;
• Experience with SDE based data management procedures;
• Experiences in the design and implementation of GIS related processes and automation;
• Knowledge in a programming language - ideally Python - is desired;
• Previous experience with FME are an asset;
• Customer focus, good management skills including organisational ability and a target oriented, proactive approach to work and the ability to prioritize;
• Creative problem solving skills and an agile mindset;
• Good communication skills, good team working skills and interpersonal skills; Robust language skills in English are required (knowledge of German and/or other languages is a plus);
