JLAN Solutions is looking for a GIS Analyst to join our team with the Department of Transportation (DOT). Candidate can be a Remote Worker. Candidate will not be able to take leave between August 15 – September 30 as this is when natural disasters (i.e. hurricanes) are most likely to occur.

Responsibilities

• Work with related GIS software and programs to create and maintain databases and/or maps that can be combined with geographically referenced data
• Compile geographic data from a variety of sources including censuses, field observation, satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and existing maps
• Enter new map data through use of a digitizer or by direct input of coordinate information using the principles of cartography including coordinate systems, longitude, latitude, elevation, topography, and map scales
  
• Analyze spatial data for geographic statistics to incorporate into documents and reports
• Meet with users to define data needs, project requirements, required outputs, or to develop applications

Requirements

• 3-10 years of experience as a GIS Analyst is required; overall work experience
• Must have a Bachelor's Degree
  
• Candidates must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
• Candidate must be proficient with ESRI ArcGIS Pro Software.
• Candidate requested to provide the software version of ESRI ArcGIS Pro, and the last date which the candidate utilized the software.
• Candidate requested to provide sample maps (non-sensitive) to showcase their cartographic skills.

Preferred/Desired

• Experience with ArcGIS Online experience desired.
  
• Experience with geoprocessing
