Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform individual, marital, family, and group psychotherapy and psychoeducation for clients of the VOCA Program using a bio-psychosocial model of healthcare delivery.
- Establish and maintain collateral relationships important for the well-being of clients (families, landlords, police, legal system, employers, other agencies and treatment providers and any other community supports).
- Formulate and complete detailed client psychosocial assessments including mental status and diagnosis; provide complete and accurate client records, statistics, treatment plans, progress notes, insurance paperwork, and other pertinent written data in a timely manner.
- Maintains and implements the Recovery, Trauma Informed, Gender Informed, philosophies with direct implications to staff, clients, family, and community development.
- Participates in the intake and referral, continued service and discharge processes; including phone screens and assessments.
- Provides direct services (clinical assessment, crisis intervention, psychotherapy, status evaluations) in a variety of modalities to VOCA and other program clients. Services are provided through community outreach and in the Outpatient Clinic setting.
- Maintains current knowledge of state treatment initiatives, program development trends and other relevant issues that may impact VOCA clients and seeks out opportunities to advance personal knowledge of treatment trends that positively impact the services provided by the organization.
- Provides clinical knowledge regarding the impact of trauma through training and education.
- Acts as a liaison with other Gilead programs, external health professionals, and community groups for the advancement of the Programs.
- Functions as part of a treatment team, participating in case conferencing, treatment team meetings, and other treatment related meetings.
- Supports an effective program by implementing desired clinical services, best practice models of care and daily functions as required by contractual and regulatory bodies.
- Carries out all phases of clinical services, including intake, engagement, assessment, treatment planning, continued services, transitioning and discharge processes. Facilitates step down to less intensive support services when necessary.
- Provides individual and group supportive counseling in the areas of problem solving, coping skills and interpersonal interactions as needed.
- Provides support and advocacy for individuals needs such as: entitlements, housing, food, clothing, pursuit of personal interests, vocational interests and finance management where applicable.
- Implements and provides feedback to improve policies and procedures for programming.
- Supports the processes for all contractual agreements, certifications or licensing regulations including but not limited to the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS).

- Supports and provides monitoring of positive outcome measures as defined by the state regulations and agency quality assurance processes. Insures program compliance through the timely and accurate reporting of data as needed.
- Consults with the Clinical Director of Community Services, Medical Director, or Psychiatrists regarding medical and mental health needs regarding risk management.
- Works in coordination with the agency Administrative Support Staff for proficient service delivery.
- Degree: Masters Degree required in human services,
- Connecticut Professional License in the field of clinical studies preferred.

- Prior clinical experience in the field of mental health, addictions, and trauma work.
- Must maintain and provide proof of valid driver’s license and automobile insurance in good standing.
- Ability to provide leadership under stressful situations.
- Ability to problem-solve. Ability to meet deadlines by prioritizing and completing multiple tasks.
- Ability to travel to various agencies, businesses.
- Must meet and maintain all required trainings, certifications etc. as needed.
- Demonstration of ethical behavior and sound judgment that supports the NASW standards of care.
- Uphold confidentiality by following the HIPAA regulations.
