Position Title: Onion Separator

Hours: Second shift M- F 3PM -11PM; Third shift S-Th nights 11PM – 7 AM

McCain Food’s facility in Rice Lake Wisconsin is a large-scale food processing plant, employing approximately 260 employees. This site specializes in the production of onion rings. Fun Fact: We are the lowest cost onion ring manufacturer in the world, and employ the best people who safely deliver high-quality products.

Position Summary:
The Onion Separator position is primarily responsible for sorting and separating the onion rings as they come out of the auger following the standard operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Separate and sort raw onion rings to specification
• Follow the separator Job Safety Analysis and all other safety policies and procedures
• Follow the Good Manufacturing Practices and all quality policies and procedures
• Pick carbon from finished product
• Separators on 2nd shift are part of the sanitation crew

Qualifications:

6+ months manufacturing experience is a PLUS
Ability to comprehend and communicate in Basic English and interact with all levels of the organization.
Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours per shift and lift up to 30 pounds (60 pounds for 2nd shift sanitation)

Physical Demand:

Constant: use and movement of hands, forward head/neck flexion, and standing on regularly scheduled shift.
Frequently: Grasping of hands, pushing with thumbs and fingers, and reaching for 8 hours daily.
Occasionally: Walking, bending at the waist, squatting, kneeling, and twisting at the neck and waist.
