About us
In 1994, a vegan pioneer and chef with a strong passion for great food and animal welfare opened the first Native Foods in Palm Springs CA. Soon word of fresh-made Tempeh and Seitan and delicious plant-based creations spread across Southern California and before we knew it, we had customers trekking in from Los Angeles, orange county and snowbirds from Canada and Chicago too! They were surpised and delighted at the world inspired flavors of Native cuisine. Luckily, they told and friend who told and firend who brought a car with loads of friends and we became a regular dot on the map for locals and visitors. In 2010, we teamed up with a group of passionate investors to expand Native Foods throughout Southern California, Chicago and Colorado. Next we are expanding to Missouri with our first location in Clayton opening in July of 2023.
We are professional, agile, innovative and our goal is to To make a difference every day, one person and one plant- based meal at a time. We do this by bringing vegetables forward, celebrating plants in their natural form, and using them in delicious and creative ways, to unleash flavor.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Our General Managers support the District manager and Operations team by exceeding customer expectations, developing team members abilities and running a smooth shift.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Interact with team members, customers, and vendors in a positive, professional demeanor – always being of service to those around you. Serve as a role model.
- Knowledgeable and proficient in each position within the restaurant.
- Manages, executes, and delegates daily functions of the restaurant, which includes but not limited to ensuring food safety standards, SOPs, schedules, inventory, par levels, coaching and guiding team members, delivering exceptional customer experience, and completing daily and weekly cleaning duties.
- 50 hour work week
- Need to be serve safe certified.
- There are four major areas of responsibility, food cost, scheduling, hiring, and training. Part of Native Foods development program is for the General manager to train hourly managers in each of these roles.
- You will be responsible for safe access and manager authority regarding cash handling, refunds, voids, and discounts.
- Ensure sanitation practices are being used in handling and preparing food in the kitchen. Ensures all safety and security policies are being followed as set by the Company.
- Trains and coaches’ employees during each shift to ensure Company and brand standards are being met.
- Uses systems and tools to accomplish goals, manage labor and control inventory.
- Performs additional tasks as requested by District manager and as needed to successfully run the restaurant.
- Must have serve safe certification.
- Constant face-to-face interactions with team members and customers.
- Safely navigate in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Ability to multi-task and remain positive in busy working conditions.
- General Managers are expected to work some early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
