Job Summary

This position exists to perform regularly scheduled general maintenance duties and specially assigned maintenance and repair activities to ensure a clean, safe, accessible and well-groomed college campus.

This position is very visible to students, staff, faculty, and the general public attending events on campus. As such, employee will be respectful and responsive to the needs of all customers, co-workers, supervisors and managers. The employee will assist in creating a culture of mutual respect, cooperation, and open communication in addition to fostering a supportive work environment that is harassment free, non-discriminatory and non-violent.

Minimum Qualifications

The following qualifications are required of all applicants seeking consideration for this position. • Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment;
• Working knowledge of the methods, tools and equipment used in repair and maintenance work;
• Ability to follow simple oral and written instructions;
• Ability to perform assigned tasks with limited direction;
• Ability to work in a variety of adverse weather conditions;
• Ability to work above the ground level such as on ladders and scaffolding;
• Must have physical ability to lift, pull heavy objects of 50 lbs. or more, climb, stand, and bend repeatedly.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to make minor repairs to and operate simple maintenance equipment;
• Ability to keep simple records;
• Ability to think quickly and react in the event of an emergency;
• Basic understanding and knowledge to navigate online web browsers, email, and Microsoft Office computer programs.

Physical Requirements

Physical health and endurance sufficient to perform work functions. Requires occasionally lifting/moving articles such as 50 pound maximum and frequently lifting and/or moving objects such as heavy tools and file boxes. This job may require walking or standing to a significant degree on rough terrain or may involve sitting most of the time with pushing and pulling of arm and/or leg controls.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.01 - $22.65 per hour
