Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for full-time, grant funded Custodians. This position is covered under the agreement between the College and Service Employees Union Local #116.

POSITION DESCR IPTION:

In accordance with the Mission and Values of Southwestern Illinois College, this is a full-time position assigned a 40 hour schedule each week. The work involves considerable manual labor throughout the work shift. Materials used in the performance of duties include various chemical cleaning agents and supplies. Equipment used in the performance of duties includes power-assisted cleaning equipment. This position is contingent upon external funds.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Functional reading and basic math skills as evidenced by a High School Diploma or GED certificate is required.

2. Ability to operate power-assisted equipment and to use chemical cleaning agents in an approved manner to avoid risk of injury to self or to others and to avoid damage to equipment, fixtures and furnishings is required.

3. Prior custodial work experience of a minimum of one year is required.

4. Valid driver’s license is required.

SALARY: The starting salary for this position is $21.15/hr. as determined according to the provisions of the agreement between the College and the Union.

WORK LOCATION: Southwestern Illinois Justice and Workforce Development Campus
