Apache Animal Hospital has been providing top-quality veterinary care to pets in Minneapolis since 1974. We are a privately-owned, 2 doctor Fear Free practice looking to add a new member to our exceptional team. Full-time or part-time hours are available.

Essential skills for applicants:

• Minimum 2 years experience working as a veterinary technician - CVT preferred but experienced technicians can also apply
• Detail oriented
• Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
• Willingness to learn and use Fear Free handling techniques
• Proficient at IV catheter placement, blood draws (jugular, saphenous, cephalic) and ultrasound guided cystocentesis
• Strong skills in performing full-mouth dental radiographs
• Positive, team-oriented attitude
• Experience with Avimark software is preferred but not required

Overview of duties:

• Monitor anesthesia for dentals and surgeries including orthopedic and specialty surgeries
• Place IV catheters and collect blood samples. Must be comfortable performing in front of clients if the pet is more comfortable with their owner.
• Perform in house lab work - urinalysis, skin scrapings, ear smears along with utilizing Idexx Catalyst, ProCyte and SedivueDx analyzers
• Work closely with veterinarians in exam rooms providing patient care and client education
• Communicate with clients in person, on the telephone, via email and text

Hours: Our clinic hours are Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm - no weekends or evenings. We are typically out no more than 20 minutes past closing.

Full Time: Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm with 30 minutes for lunch.

Part Time: Open for discussion

Wage: $20 - $25 depending on experience
