FT DC Nanny Position

Family of 4 in the Kalorama neighborhood is looking for a nanny for their 2 boys (4mo & 3yo). Parents are professionals and work in and outside of the home, traveling included. Mom has an office that she works from but works outside of the home often. Dad works outside of the home and travels for work regularly.

The hours of this position are guaranteed; however, they need a nanny who is flexible and also willing to help with some house management-type tasks such as managing the family calendar, coordinating babysitters, preschool events, and more.

The toddler is super sweet and hyper-verbal so be ready for fun toddler conversations! He loves all things cars and dinosaurs and playing outdoors. He is starting preschool in the fall and has been testing the waters with summer camp and all is going well. The baby is the sweetest little nugget there ever was. He loves to cuddle, snuggle, and babble with you. If you are a nap whisperer, please apply!

The home is stocked full of toys and crafts, and the parents are open to purchasing anything you need. There is a car for your use to transport the children to activities, so no need to drive your own car.

This position requires a nanny with strong organization and communication skills. The family is open to all experience levels, but keeping the home organized (they have a house keeper), and the parents informed are absolute priorities – along with safety, of course!

MUST be able to jump in with your planned activities, as there won't be much instruction for this position. The parents prefer structured days and a variety of activities so the toddler is not playing with cars for hours day after day.

Preference will be given to candidates who:

*Have 10+ years of experience

*Nap whispering skills (or willingness to follow a sleep consultant's plan)

*History of longevity with families

*History of working for families who have infants and toddlers (while maintaining schedules)

The Details
Location: Washington, DC (20008)

Start Date: As soon as they find the right fit!

Children: 3yo (b) 4mo (b)

Hours: 45-50 guaranteed hours per week

Schedule: TBD but falling within the 8am-6/7pm hours

Flexibility: Ability to work longer days with notice. The family likes to travel from time to time and would love the nanny to join them on some trips to care for the boys.

Compensation: 35-40+/hr. based on experience and verified references

Benefits: Guaranteed Hours + PTO (vacation, personal days, holidays) + Overtime after 40 hours + Accrued sick time + Continued Education Stipend

Duration: Long-term. Hoping for the nanny to stay for years to come! If you are looking for a 1 year position, this is NOT the position for you

Pets: 1 King Cavalier named Stella who is trained and gentle with the children

Driving: Nanny must have a valid driver's license, auto insurance, responsible driving record, and reliable transportation to get to/from the family’s home.

Covid-19: The family will only interview vaccinated + boosted nannies who will continue to get boosters as recommended by the CDC.

Extra: The family is willing to assist with moving costs for the right candidate!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide nurturing and supportive care to the children
• Follow schedules as provided by parents
• Communicate effectively and often with parents
• Prepare healthy meals and snacks
• Clean up after meals
• Motivate and encourage child to meet milestones
• Discuss infant/toddler/children’s development regularly with parents

• Assisting with baby laundry as needed
• Prepare meals/Prepare and clean bottles
• Keep play areas tidy

• Taking initiative! Helping out whenever and wherever possible.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Be energetic, and outgoing with a self-directed personality and “can do” attitude
• Have at least 10 years of experience
• Proficient in infant & toddler development
• Have stellar references
• Have a responsible driving record and be willing to provide a complete driving history report from the DOL
• Infant and Child CPR/First Aid Certified (or willingness to renew before starting the position)
• Willingness to submit to Background check
• Ability to make at least a one-year commitment
• Non-smoking / Drug Free
• Covid-19 vaccinated + booster shot (and willing to get booster shots as recommended by CDC)
• Willingness to get Flu and Tdap vaccines as needed and recommended by CDC

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00 - $42.00 per hour
