Beech Brook, one of Northeast Ohio’s premier behavioral health agencies, is currently hiring a Foster Care Coordinator to join our Treatment Foster Care Team. This position will support future and current foster parents through training, the licensing process, and acceptance of placements. The Foster Care Coordinator is responsible for training of potential Foster Parents, Facilitating Information Meetings for potential Foster Parents, and Conducting Pre-Service Training to Foster Parents. Beech Brook specializes in Treatment Foster Care, providing CPST/case management services to children of various ages placed in Level 4 foster care with special attention paid to trauma informed care.
Essential Responsibilities (including but not limited):
- Conducts pre-service training to foster parents
- Support parents in completing the application process and preparing for licensure/home study process
- Be familiar with all foster parents in the agency and support them in their growth and development
- Follow up with foster parents, particularly as they work through licensing and prepare for their first placement
- Coordinate ongoing foster parent training/trainers
- Coordinates and completes potential foster child intakes
- Identifies potential areas for crisis and proactively plans to prevent it
- Handles crisis in an effective manner.
- On Call responsibilities on a rotating basis
Education-Required
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Ohio license: LSW, LPC
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
- Skill in using computer software applications such as Microsoft Office
- Ability to work with electronic medical records
- Personal reliable transportation is required
- Experience in Foster Care/Adoption environment
- Ability to work independently and creatively to solve problems for highly complex youth
- Demonstrated ability to engage difficult and high-risk youth and their families
- Good working knowledge of community resources
