Job Summary
The Food Services Supervisor maintains correct inventories, par levels, and works closely with the Director of Dietary while supervising employees on designated shifts. Additional responsibilities include developing menus for residents, processing catering requests, processing invoices, training of new staff, and providing correct pricing information in Director’s absence.

Essential Job Specific Duties/Responsibilities
1. Assesses and monitors the nutritional status of residents in assigned area(s). Establishes resident likes and dislikes, satisfaction, and maintains diet cards and completes care plans.
2. Schedule coverage for call-ins and vacations.
3. Supervisory guidance to cooks and dining attendants. Evaluate employee competence in job related knowledge and skills, safety, equipment operation and assess training needs
4. Works with Director of Dietary in budget planning, purchasing, and development of policies and procedures.
5. Time card processing and sign off for payroll.
6. Conducts inventory, establishes par levels, and maintains supplies to meet resident needs. Provides weekly information to the facility’s buyer for ordering food.
7. Prepares orders, processes invoices and works closely with all department leadership.
8. Inputs data for menus. Types weekly menus
9. Monitors rotation of stock including freezers, coolers, and dry storage ensuring infection control, safety, federal and state laws are observed.
10. Satisfies all educational in-service requirements mandated by CHI Living Communities, the department, external accrediting, and regulatory agencies.
a. Attends all mandatory in-service programs.
b. Adheres to facility policies and procedures.
c. Completes yearly online education program by deadline.
d. Attends employee meetings on a regular basis.
In addition to the essential job specific duties listed above, the Food Services Supervisor shall be required to perform all duties (essential and non-essential) in a manner consistent with the mission and values (compassion, excellence, inclusion, integrity, collaboration) of CHI Living Communities and will be evaluated on such basis. Furthermore, every employee must abide by all campus, departmental, and safety policies, rules, and regulations.
CHI Living Communities has the right to change the job specific duties and specifications required for the position of Food Services Supervisor from time to time without prior notice.
Job Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or GED Required
Experience: Minimum five years supervisory experience in a kitchen required, five years cooking experience required, food server experience preferred.
Attendance: Regular attendance is an essential part of this job.
