If so, our full time Food Services Cook in the Motherhouse & Retreat Center dining room is the job for you!

Must be able to work Days or Eve shifts, five days a week, including every other weekend.

Time varies depending on the shift needing coverage.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Preparation of meats, vegetables, salads, and desserts, as assigned
• Rotate through assigned jobs: meat cook, vegetable cook, and dish room
• Check in stock and put away
• Clean and stock freezer and refrigerator
• Prepare and set up for special events
• Fill all requests that come into the kitchen
• Check and/or make drinks, as assigned.
• Put food on line and keep filled, as assigned.
• Participate in the cleaning of food service areas, as assigned.
• Assist with washing and drying dishes, as necessary
• Assist with counting and plating of food.
• Adhere to recipes with no modifications so nutritional values are correct.
• Maintain courteous and professional communication with Sisters, visitors, staff, and all customers.

Skills and Abilities Required

• High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 2-3 years cooking experience.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs.
• Ability to withstand and manage constant standing, walking, bending lifting, and carrying.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and learn all positions on both shifts.
• Flexibility regarding scheduling
• Ability to withstand changes in temperatures due to equipment used in the cooking and dishwashing areas and the coolness of refrigeration.
• Safety awareness concerning cuts, burns, falls, and communicable diseases.

Pay: $11.52 - $13.55 per hour
