SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting in the preparation, distribution, transportation and serving of daily lunches; and sanitizing food preparation, serving and eating areas for the school district.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepares the kitchen for food preparation, cooking, distribution and serving of daily student lunches
• Sanitizes trays, utensils, cookware and dish room; cleans kitchen and dining areas
• Assists in the preparation of food for distribution to cafeterias;
• Prepares food in accordance with NSLP guidelines.
• Maintains required temperatures of prepared foods
• Prepares steam and serving tables for receipt of food
• Serves meals according to portion serving directions
• Cleans and sanitizes kitchen, dining and food preparation areas in accordance with state health department regulations and guidelines
• Follows established dress, safety and health rules and regulations

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of District rules, regulations, policies and procedures
• Knowledge of safe food preparation, packaging, shipping and handling practices
• Knowledge of the care and operation of commercial kitchen equipment
• Knowledge of sanitizing chemicals and applications for food preparation and service areas
• Knowledge of customer service methods and techniques
• Ability to speak and read English proficiently
• Skill in preparing and serving food to students.
• Skill in cleaning, maintaining and sanitizing food preparation and service
• Skill in following oral and written instructions
• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Six (6) years food preparation or food service experience (Preferred)
• Must possess and maintain current food handler certification
• Finger Print Clearance
• Maintain requirements for access to Fort Huachuca

Any equivalent combination of training, education and experience that meets minimum requirements

Computer Proficiency:

Basic Computer Skills
