Job description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Make sure that all tables are set completely both before, after shift, and throughout.
Make sure all areas are clean and free of debris.
Make sure designated section is fully stocked; side stations have polished glasses, silverware, napkins, etc.
Steps of Service:
- Acknowledge guests immediately with a smile
- Greets and occasionally seats guest by their name when known and makes them feel welcome and special.
- Educate and know guests prior to arrival (Open Table notes, tier level, etc.)
- Serve bread and inform guests of any specials and have full understanding of the menu
- Working knowledge of extensive wine selection, presentation and service of wines
- Writes food and beverage orders.
- Inputs orders into computer; expedite drink order from bar and serves to
customer; picks up food orders from kitchen area and serves to customers.
- Ensure food order is correct before serving to the guests
- Deliver table set-ups with food order and clear away in a timely manner.
- Maintain table with beverage levels throughout service
- Monitor tables closely and be attentive to guests’ needs.
- Clear empty plates and glasses from tables
- Clearing and scraping all dishes in the side stations after clearing a table.
- Prepare silverware neatly and quickly at table.
- Clean area when finished preparing silverware
- Make sure all areas are clean and free of debris.
- Assist other servers as necessary.
- Performs all side work as assigned.
