Position: Financial Analyst

The role of the Financial Analyst will be to work with the Accounting Team to process financial data. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for the following:
  • Processing and/or reviewing invoices for submission to customers
  • Preparing and/or approving general ledger entries
  • Processing cash receipts and tracking accounts receivable
  • Maintaining daily cash reports
  • Processing and reconciling timesheets and expense reports
  • Preparing labor distribution and accrued salaries reconciliations
  • Preparing GL analysis and reconciliations
  • Preparing cash projection analysis
  • Preparing budget to actual analysis
  • Maintaining accounting records
  • Understanding and following accounting policies and procedures
  • Supporting audits as needed

Candidate will be prepared to cross-train on various other aspects of the Accounting Department. Position requires ability to communicate ideas both written and oral in a professional and concise manner. This individual must be organized, be able to multi-task, detail oriented and be a team player. Other accounting duties may be assigned as the VP of Finance deems necessary . Work location will be at our Lexington Park office.

Experience Requirements:
  • Accounting experience to include accounts payable, accounts receivable analysis, invoicing, processing timesheets
  • Ability to succeed in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
  • Ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently.
  • Previous experience in government contract accounting
Educational Requirements:
  • 2 year degree in Accounting or Business Admin required. Will substitute two additional years of experience or consider a degree candidate with related experience
Security Requirements: U.S. citizenship is required.

Additional Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of accounting experience
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) type system
  • Research and analysis skills
  • Ability to communicate ideas in a professional manner
  • Confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite with advance knowledge of Excel
