Job description
The Document Coordinator is responsible for obtaining and performing a comprehensive review, file and update of the internal borrower database for important loan documents. The Document Coordinator may review documents for complex products, ensuring not only data accuracy and completeness, but also providing a more detailed review for varying investors and/or warehouse bank overlays.
Essential Job Functions:
- Providing document support to Mortgage Loan Processing teams.
- Reviewing borrower files for accuracy and placing into processing.
- Ordering FHA and VA case numbers via external websites.
- Validating case numbers via external websites.
- Identifying seasoning requirements to order individual case numbers for borrowers.
- Ordering fraud guard and flood certification for loans.
- Resolving case number issues within 24-hour time frame.
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience:
- Minimum 6 months of experience in customer service, data entry or administrative support in a professional environment.
- Previous experience in banking or mortgage is a major plus, but not desired.
- Minimum high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Knowledge of credit reports and some knowledge of FHA/VA streamline guidelines helpful.
- Must be able to work independently or as part of a team in a high-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of MS Office skills required.
Language Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
