The Field Service Engineer identifies, analyzes, and repairs field product failures. The typical day consists of:
- Troubleshoot and maintain large scale automated freezers.
- Identifies, analyzes, and repairs product failures. Orders and replaces parts as needed.
- Research and answer customer questions about product features, issues, and upgrades.
- Performs start up testing and customer training on features and general maintenance of product.
- Has solid knowledge of the organization’s products and services.
- Performs customer user training.
- Contributes to the R&D aspects of projects by presenting the Service perspective.
- Has knowledge of the organization’s products and services.
- Provide on-site field service, repairs, and quality checks.
- Provide remote support via phone, e-mail, and computer.
- Clearly and accurately complete documentation on time.
- Mid-Atlantic travel up to 15% outside NY is expected.
- Regular commute to and from customer site, with ability to navigate within the region. Must follow traffic laws and correctly route themselves, ensuring on-time arrival at customer site.
- All other duties as assigned.
- A high level of self-motivation to assist customers, sales, and service providers.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move approximately 60 lbs.
- The FSE must possess and maintain a current, valid Driver License. Must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline from a regionally accredited, not-for-profit university preferred.
Or
- The equivalent combination of an Associates, Vocational, Technical/Trade, or equivalent degree/certificate and at least two years of technical experience working in an electronic/electrical engineering environment with a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electronics, electrical, mechanical, and computer systems.
Experience:
- Experience in technical field service and working with customers in the life science, clinical, or pharmaceutical field is preferred.
- Experience in automation or similar field is required.
- Being fluent in English, both written and spoken, is required.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move approximately 60 lbs.
