MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Field Instrumentation Specialist supports the end-to-end scoping, installation, maintenance, repair, training, and monitoring of our Rig Data Capture (RDC) System sensors and software.

  • Scopes out system needs for each installation, accounting for rig or location-specific needs and requirements
  • Conducts initial installation of RDC equipment to ensure functionality and operation of the system within required parameters, including hardware and software
  • Trains rig crews on RDC equipment installation, servicing, repair and maximizing efficient use and operation of the system
  • Monitors and reviews RDC reports to evaluate accuracy and reliability
  • Works with Operations and Engineering to resolve issues, ensure system stability, and strive for zero system down time.
  • Collaborates with Operations and Engineering on vendor management and manages inventory levels
  • Helps resolve customer inquiries or issues related to the system or data
  • All other duties as required

EXPERIENCE & WORKING REQUIREMENTS

Experience Requirements

  • Associates or higher degree in Electronics, Instrumentation or related field required
  • 3+ years’ experience in field instrumentation system installation, service, repair, troubleshooting and monitoring in the oil and gas industry
  • Exceptional computer skills and able to learn, train, monitor and analyze system software and data
  • Workover or drilling rig experience a plus
  • Bilingual Spanish a plus

  • Must have a clean driving record and pass the company drug screen, background check and functional capacity test
